Tips for pool plaster cleaning

There are multiple ways to clean the plaster, depending on how dirty it is and what has caused the dirt.

1. Scrub the sides and floor of the pool with a hard brush at least twice a week in order to prevent anything holding on to the plaster.
2. If the stain is organic, left from a leaf or acorn for example, a small amount of granular chlorine added and allowed to settle on the stain will usually remove it instantly.
3. Remaining stains can be rubbed with sandpaper.
4. If chlorine doesn’t work, use acid. Draining and acid washing will remove a thin layer of plaster along with stains, exposing fresh, new looking plaster beneath.
5. To avoid future problems, scrub plaster regularly with a brush.
